About Us

Community Chamber Collective (CCC) established in 2023 by Conductor Shaun Fraser and Violist Stephanie Hughes with a view to make chamber music more accessible to both players and community alike. We have a clear mission to take chamber music into unique places and spaces, ensuring that our performance style is flexible to suit both formal and casual spaces. Our developed repertoire includes music that is both traditional and contemporary making our programming accessible and enjoyable for both new and seasoned listeners.

Since inception CCC has organically developed community connections leading to many  successful performances, and has developed an experienced performance group entity playing as ‘The Collective’. We have performed many times for the City of Swan at both public and private events. We have acted as a major partner to Eco-Fashion Australia, providing musical entertainment throughout the 2024 festival. The Collective has also developed a musical collaboration with Australian professional singer and songwriter Louise Anton, and is currently performing our collaborative show, True Colours.

Stephanie Hughes
Stephanie commenced viola studies via the Strings Instrumental Music Program at 7 years old.  Music soon became a pivotal element to learning and leisure throughout Stephanie’s early years.  Moving on to a career as a Primary Healthcare Professional, she soon became aware of the impact that healthy community programs  have on our individual health and well being.
Stephanie has enjoyed playing in community music for many years, and served for more than a decade as part of the committee for Hills Symphony Orchestra.  She has a true passion for creating safe and inclusive spaces for amateur musicians to come together, while using music to build and strengthen community connections.

Kristy Hughes
Kristy is lead violin for Community Chamber Collective, acting as both solo violin and electric violin when the opportunity presents. She has studied violin throughout her youth commencing lessons at just 6 years of age.  Kristy now has a Degree in Instrumental and Secondary Teaching, and holds Violin Tutor positions at a number of Primary schools.  Her other music endeavours include the occasional pit position in community musical theatre, and being Concert Master for Hills Symphony Orchestra.
